Podcast #20 - Easy (Lavender)

Calm. I'm not very much. Though, I work on it. My husband is a balancing force in my life and I've learned so much from the way he handles things. He and I have also learned that I'm calmest out in nature so, long walks, bike rides, hikes and camping are a good prescription for me. It's pretty obvious if you follow me on instagram or twitter (@lauramariemusic). Plenty of outdoorsy pics there. This song was actually written during a week when I felt sheer panic coming on. I was just beginning to feel completely overwhelmed and out of control. I know it doesn't have to be that way. I try to remind myself before the switch gets flipped in my brain and, all of a sudden, it's nothing but thunderstorms in my head. I'm blessed to have people who love me enough to wait it out. On the other side of it, I remember that I've forgotten to do the things that support my peace. I remind myself to meditate, breathe and be still. Begin again.

Easy

I’m a hard light out of a dark night
Go from clear skies into a long rain
And cold hands, can’t even warm them
Not without holding long past the pain

I know I’m not so easy
I know I’m not so easy
You don’t need to say it

Softly when I am storming
Slowly, cause I’m raging
And steady, steady for hours
Lavender flowers surrounding me

I know I’m not so easy
I know I’m not so easy
You don’t need to say it

How you are
Is how you calm me down
How you are
Is how you calm me down
How you are is how

I know I’m not so easy
I know I’m not so easy
I know I’m not so easy
You don’t need to say it
You don’t need to say it
You don’t need to say it
